2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. buttermilk
3 bananas

2 1/2 c. cake flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

1/3 c. buttermilk
2 eggs

Banana Cake Frosting:
1/3 c. flour
3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together first 3 ingredients, keep in separate bowl.
Sift and mix together next 5 ingredients and add to the previous 3 ingredients. Mix eggs and buttermilk together, then mix with the above mixture. Grease and flour 2 or 3 round cake pans, or 9x13".
Bake at 350º for 35-45 minutes.
Frosting Directions:
Mix first 2 ingredients together and cook slowly while stirring until thickened. Cool.
Add the next 4 ingredients to the cooled cooked mixture. Beat for 8 minutes
