1 C. (2 sticks) oleo
2 C. sugar
6 beaten egg yolks
1 T. vanilla
1/2 C. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2/3 tsp. salt
48 crushed graham crackers
1 1/2 C. milk
1 1/4 C. chopped walnuts
6 stiff beaten egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Cream oleo and sugar. Add egg yolks and vanilla, beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, alternating with graham crackers crumbs and milk. Stir in nuts (walnuts or hickory). Folk in stiff beaten egg whites. Bake in greased tube pan for about 55 minutes at 350º.

I found several copies of this recipe in Mom's handwriting. A funny tidbit...on one recipe the number of servings was listed as "a lot" on another card it stated "# of servings: Us".

Additional note: A tube pan is an Angel Food Cake pan.
