1 Cup butter,
1 Cup packed brown sugar,
1/2 Cup sugar,
3/4 Teaspoon baking soda,
1/2 Teaspoon salt* (Skip salt if using salted butter)
2 eggs,
1 Teaspoon (Or a couple of cap-fulls...) vanilla extract
2 1/2 Cups Flour
12-16 Oz Chocolate Chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

In a large bowl, beat butter until creamy. Add brown sugar, sugar, baking soda and salt*. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Add flour. Finally, add chocolate chips.

Scoop cookie dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet in slightly heaping spoonfuls, evenly spaced apart.

Bake for 8-12 Minutes. Remove cookies from baking sheet and let cool. Enjoy!

I learned this particular cookie recipe during one of my summers spent in New Mexico. I originally learned how to make these cookies using a wood-stove, so feel free to experiment with temperatures and cook times as needed!
