Sift together:
2 c. flour
1 tsp salt

Measure and combine:
2/3 c. shortening
2 T. butter

4 T. water

Cut half of the shortening into the flour mixture with a pastry blender or your fingers until it resembles cornmeal. Cut in remaining shortening and butter until dough is pea size. Sprinkle with 4T. water. Blend lightly into dough. If the dough will not stay together, you can add 1 tsp to 1T. of additional water. When you can gather the dough into a ball, stop working with it. Divide in half, roll out and place in pie pan. Depending on the pie you are making you can then fill the pie and top with other half of crust or you can make two pies with it.
