"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Personal Notes:
"Aunt Helen was Gramma's aunt, sister to her mother and Aunt Viv and Aunt Mabel. They were all Crebo girls with hips to show for it. She was mom to Barb, Ginny and Stewie. Her husband was Trygg Olson who owned a grocery store called Trygg's supermarket. (Before it was Gary's)
Trygg drowned in Canada when he was fishing with Uncle Howard (Viv's husband) and one other guy. Only one guy survived...Uncle Howard, Viv's husband. They named lakes in Canada after Trygg and the other guy. Auntie Helen remarried Dick, I think and they moved to Florida. Barb lives in lower Michigan, Ginny lives in Texas I think and Stewie lives in Florida. I honestly didn't know Auntie Helen cooked or baked!" --Kris Ertl
