1 stick butter
1/2 cup oil
1 cup boiling water
Then:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/4 cup cocoa
2 eggs beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk mixed with 1 1/2 tsp. soda (let stand a bit)
1 tsp vanilla
Frosting:
1 stick butter
1/3 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1 box powdered sugar

Directions:

Add all the cake ingredients to the "rolling boil" ingredients (butter, oil and water) adding the buttermilk mixture last. Pour into cookie sheet pan 18x11. Bake at 350º for 20 min
Frost while cake is still HOT. Heat all frosting ingredients and stir with a whip to make smooth. Pour over hot cake Yum Yum!!

My Mom made these for us every Christmas, cut and boxed up. We looked forward to them more than any present esp 'cause we knew how much love she put into them! Chocolate and love just go together!
