1 cake yeast or 1 dry yeast
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 cup lukewarm milk or water
4 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup melted shortening
2 eggs, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Crumble yeast and sugar. Add warm milk with well-beaten eggs. Add half of flour. Beat hard to add air. Add cooled melted shortening and rest of flour. Cover tightly and let raise until doubled. Form rolls and raise again. Bake 15 minutes in hot oven.

To form rolls:

Roll half of dough like a pie crust. Cut in wedges and roll from outer edge to center., Place in pan with point down.,

For sweet rolls:

Sprinkle with chopped nuts or jam before rolling, then ice after baking. (Can also cut in strips and swirl into standard sweet roll shape.)
