1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/2 cups diced apples
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Rum Sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1.2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cream
1 tbsp cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
9 x 9 inch pan

Cream together:
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar

Add:
1 beaten egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/2 cups diced apples
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Bake 350 degrees for 35 + minutes

Make Rum Sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cream
1 tbsp cornstarch

Mix and boil 2-1/2 minutes. Add 1-tbsp rum flavoring and 1 tsp vanilla. Serve warm over cake. Top with shipping cream or vanilla ice cream.
