3 cups white sugar
2 cups evaporated milk or half and half
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Directions:
Carmalize 1 cup sugar. Add 1 cup milk/cream. Then add 1 cup sugar. Then 1 more cup milk. Continue to alternate as you are cooking on low heat. Bring to a boil to a soft ball stage. Cook and beat in butter, vanilla and nuts.
