1 pkg yeast
5 C flour
1 tsp salt
3 tsp baking soda
1/4 stick oleo
kosher salt

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1 C warm water.
Mix in salt.

Add mixture to 4 C flour, mix into workable "blob" (admiral talk).
Add flour or water as needed to make it workable.

Knead for about 10 minutes.
Place blob on sheet an cover with melted oleo.
Allow to rise in warm place until double in size.

Roll out to 1/2" thick, 14" long strip on lightly floured pastry cloth.
Cut into 1/2" strips (a floured pizza cutter works well) and shape into pretzels.

Bring pot of water with baking soda to a boil.
Dip pretzels into water for 10-12 seconds.
Place on a rack to drain.
Salt pretzels to taste with kosher salt while wet.

Place salted pretzels on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 425º for 12 minutes.
