Cake Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 squares chocolate
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups chopped nuts
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Frosting Ingredients:
Pinch of salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup more or less powdered sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Mix all cake ingredients and bake at 350º until done. Mix together frosting ingredients. Spread frosting on cool cake.

Cora says a lady from California was staying at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. This cake was served and she asked the chef if she might have the recipe, Adding she would be glad to pay for it. After she returned home, she received the recipe and the bill for $100.
