2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
Mix together, no sifting needed.
ADD
1/2 c. melted shortening or oil
1 c. boiling coffee
1 c. milk
2 eggs

Whipped Cream Frosting
3 Tbsp. flour
3/4 c. milk
6 Tbsp. butter
6 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix for a short period of time, because batter is loose, and blends well. Bake in greased and floured pan of your choice 325º about 45 minutes to an hour and test.

Whipped Cream Frosting
Blend flour and milk and cook slowly stirring constantly until smooth and thickened. Cool.

Cream the butter and shortening and add sugar slowly. Beat with electric beater for 4 minutes.

Add flour mixture and beat again for 4 minutes. Add vanilla and beat till mixed well. Chill before topping cake.

This recipe was given to me by my sister-in-law many years ago. It is a favorite of our family--so easy to make.
