Mustard Hamburgers & Sauce Recipe

Ingredients: For burgers: 2 lbs. very good ground beef (80- 20% fat ratio) Winn Dixie if possible 1/2 yellow onion chopped very fine 1 t salt 1/2 t black pepper
For sauce: 1 stick of butter or Imperial margarine 3 heaping T yellow mustard 3 heaping T lemon juice 1 t worcesteshire sauce 1 t salt 1/4 t black pepper

Directions: |
Directions:Place ground meat in a mixing bowl. Chop onion and add to the meat. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper and mix well. Shape hamburger patties and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Sauce: Melt butter or margarine in a medium sauce pan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in mustard, lemon juice and worcesteshire sauce. Add salt and pepper and mix well.
Baste one side of patties with sauce and place on grill, sauced side down, then sauce the other side. Turn burgers only once. Re-baste with sauce after burgers are removed from grill. |

Notes: Jamie and some friends of ours made up this recipe while we were living in married student housing at USL (now ULL). We were all so poor and we ate a lot of burgers. This sauce can be used for baked chicken also.
