Personal Notes:
I was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi. I believe the blue crabs found on the coast taste better than any crab I have ever tasted. Azzie made this marinated crab and we could never get enough. When I was old enough to drive and got my own car, Azzie asked me to take her crabbing. I said, "Of all things, you want to go crabbing?" She replied, "I is always wanting to go crabbing. But before we go, you needs to get me some sun screen so I won't sunburn!" and I said, "Azzie, you can't sunburn; you're black." She then replied, "Child, us black folks burns worst than yo white folks does." As much as she loved to go crabbing she sure was scared to death of the crabs. Everytime she pulled a net up with a crab in it she would yell, "Sheila, Sheila, come get it out!" and she would do the funniest dance trying to get away from those crabs even though she enjoyed every minute of crabbing. I treasure these wonderful memories.
