Crust:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Filling:
2 large egg whites
1 box frozen strawberries (thawed)
1 cup sugar
dash of salt
1 Tablespoon. lemon juice
Small Carton Cool Whip
Directions:
Directions:
Crust: Cream butter and sugar. Add flour and pecans. Pat in bottom of pie plate or 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 400º for 15-20 minutes or until light brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Stir and break into small pieces. Leave 3/4 crust in pan and reserve the remaining 1/4 to top over filling.
Filling: In large mixing bowl, beat egg whites, till frothy. Slowly add sugar, strawberries, salt, and lemon juice. Beat for 12-15 minutes. Fold in Cool Whip and pour over cooled crust. Top with reserved 1/4 crumbled crust and freeze.

This dessert works well in a 9x13 pan or it can be used as a pie. The pie will be very large and tall.
