1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. cayenne
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 large onion - sliced
5-8 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. oil
8 slices cheddar cheese
8 slices rye bread

Directions:

Season ground beef, form into 4 patties and set aside. Heat a skillet on high heat, add 1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp butter, and when butter is melted and lightly brown, add the onions and cook add'l 5 min. Set aside.
Top 4 of the slices of bread each with some onions, a slice of cheese, cooked patty, and another slice of cheese and finally a slice of bread. Slather each sandwich on top & bottom with add'l butter.
Turn heat to medium. Add the sandwiches. Cook for 3-4 min. per side, or until bread is golden brown and cheese has melted. Slice in half diagonally.
