1/2 C. sugar, 3/4 C. butter, softened, 1 egg yolk, 1 t. almond extract, 1 1/2 C. all purpose flour, 1/4 C. unsweetened cocoa, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips (for coating).
Finely chopped almonds, pecans or walnuts; candy coated milk chocolate pieces; flaked coconut, colored sugars and sprinkles

Preheat oven to 375. In large mixer bowl combine sugar, butter and egg yolk and almond extract. Beat at medium speed until mixture is light and fluffy 2-3 minutes. Continue beating, gradually adding flour and cocoa until well mixed. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1 inch balls, Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Shape as desired. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until set. Cool and decorate
