1 1/2 C yellow corn meal
1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3/4 C milk
1/2 C finely chopped onion
1 egg (beaten)

Heat 2-inch deep oil to 375º. Combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into hot oil, frying a few at a time for about three minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
