2 lb. Italian sausage or ground beef
3 med. onions, chopped (1 1/2 c)
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 cans (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (29 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (12 oz) tomato paste
2 T dried basil leaves
1 T dried oregano leaves
1 T sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1'2 tsp crushed red pepper

Directions:
In 12" skillet, cook sausage, onions, and garlic over medium heat about 10 minutes, until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Place sausage mixture in 5-6 qt. slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low heat 8-9 hours. Makes 12 cups.
