1 yeast
1 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. butter or liquid shortening
1 tbsp. salt
6 cups sifted flour
1 cup warm milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Add warm water and warm milk, let cool slightly. Break in yeast. Add salt, flour to make medium stiff dough. Knead well. Let rise in greased pan. Take out and put on floured board. Before letting rise, put in raisins. After dough has raised, cut about 1 inch, twist, roll in melted butter, and then in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Tie in knots, and let rise. Bake at 350º for about 25 minutes.
