Notes: Growing up as a child my mother only made these cookies. You can be assured that the night before every holiday my mother would pull out her banged up cookie sheets and start making her famous cookies that everyone loved. I could never understand why my mother never made toll house cookies. So one day I asked my mother if she could make chocolate chip cookies and with a smile on her face she said sure. I couldn't wait. I can still remember the smell of chocolate coming from the oven. When the cookies came out of the oven it was no surprise that instead of making toll house cookies, my mother put chocolate chips into her Italian cookies. I didn't have the heart to tell her that is not what I meant. Today Me-Ma's Italian cookies are loved by many as it is the number one selling cookie at Rig A' Tony's.
