1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 t. soda
1/2 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
2/3 c. nuts (optional)
1 c. butterscotch chips

1/4 c. butter
3-4 T. boiling water
1/2 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat heat to 350º.

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well. Add sour cream. Sift together dry ingredients and add to batter. Add vanilla, nuts and chips. Drop by tablespoon onto baking sheet. Bake for 13-14 minutes.

Icing:
Melt and cook until butter til a nut brown color. Remove from heat and add water and vanilla. Add powdered sugar until right for spreading.
