3 c. milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. bread cubes (or more)
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
Butter Rum Sauce:
1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. heavy cream
2 tbs. rum or 1 tsp. rum extract

Directions:
Directions:
Whisk eggs, vanilla, sugar salt and nutmeg in a 2 quart baking dish. Mix well. Heat milk until bubbles form around sides of pan, put some in egg mixture, then whisk all in pan. Add bread cubes and raisins to mixture. Pour into dish. Put dish in larger pan, pour boiling water halfway up side of dish. Bake in preheated oven at 325° for 1 hour. Butter Rum Sauce: Melt butter in pan. Add brown sugar and heavy cream. Boil rapidly 8 to 10 minutes. Add rum or rum extract. Serve over pudding.
