Ingredients:  
Melt 1/2 c. butter in a 9x12 pan. Add 1 c. brown sugar and 1 1/2 c. (16 oz. can) crushed pineapple (drained).

In a separate bowl, blend together on 1 1/2 minutes on medium speed:
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. milk
Add 2 eggs and 2 tsp. vanilla. Beat on medium speed for another 1 1/2 minutes.

Pour cake mixture over pineapple mixture. Bake at 375º for 30-45 minutes.

This recipe may be used as a white cake mix if you leave out the pineapple part.
