3 eggs. separated and white's beaten stiff
3/4 c. butter
1-1/2 c. sugar
2-3/4c. sifted cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 c. milk
1t. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour (3) cake pans
Beat softened butter until creamy. Add sugar and beat until light in color.
Add eggs (without the Yokes), 1 at a time beating after each addition.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
Add flour and milk alternately mixing well after each addition.
Add vanilla.
Fold stiff beaten egg whites into cake.

Granny always made this cake for me for Easter in her lamb cake mold. She would make a butter frosting and then cover him with coconut.
When she made the cake in layers, she would also cover it with butter frosting and coconut.
