1 c. shortening (butter)
1 c. honey
4 eggs (or 2 eggs and 4 tsp. baking soda)
4 c. unsweetened applesauce
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. whole wheat flour (if using white wheat flour--or 2 c. wheat and 2 c. refined white, if not)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. raisins
Directions:
Directions:
Cream honey and butter.
Add eggs, cream well.
Add applesauce, sift in dry ingredients.
Add vanilla and raisins.
Pour batter in greased and floured 9x12 or 8x8 or 2 bread loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 min or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
