Pick or buy any amount of green beans you wish to can. String, break and wash beans. Pace and pack in clean jars. Place 1 tsp. salt in the top of the jar and add hot water to fill the jar to 1/2 inch of top. Put seals (heated in boiling water) on jars and place screw bands on the jars. Place in a canner with 1/2 gallon water and bring to 10-12 pound pressure and cook for 25 minutes. After cooking, allow the cooker to cool and the pressure to drop entirely. Remove the lid, and with a cloth dishtowel, remove jar from the canner. Place on another dishcloth and allow to cool. Make sure the jars are sealed before putting away.

If jar is not sealed, you can put the jar in a water bath once again for a brief time. Remove, turn upside down and see if the jar will seal. If not, place the jar in the refrigerator and use within 2 weeks.
