1 Cup whole yellow cornmeal
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 T. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
5 T butter or margarine
½ cup milk
¼ cup maple syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Mix together flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Cut the butter into small pieces and add to flour mixture and use fingers or a fork to mix until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
In separate bowl, stir milk and syrup together and add to the flour mixture just until evenly moist. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto baking sheet. Press down lightly with fingers to flatten, or leave as they are. Bake about 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
