2 c. flour
10 tsp. sugar, divided
1 T. grated orange peel
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. cold butter
1 c. dried cranberries
¼ c. orange juice and half-&-half cream
1 egg
1 T. milk

GLAZE (optional)
½ c. confectioners’ sugar
1 T. orange jice

ORANGE BUTTER
½ c. softened butter
2-3 T. orange marmalade

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl, including 7 tsp. sugar. Cut in butter.

In a small bowl, combine cranberries, orange juice, cream, and egg. Add to flour mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.

On a floured surface, gently knead 6-8 times. Pat dough into an 8-inch circle. Cut into 10 wedges. Separate wedges and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush with milk and sprinkle with remaining sugar.

Bake at 400⁰ for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Combine glaze ingredients, if desired; drizzle over baked scones. Combine orange butter ingredients. Serve with warm scones.

Yield: 10 scones.
