1 c. water
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. butter
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
FROSTING:
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. buttermilk
4 to 4 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts (opt.)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water, oil and butter to boil. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa and salt. Pour boiled mixture over and stir. Add eggs and mix well. Combine baking soda with buttermilk then stir into cake batter. Add vanilla. Bake in prepared 10x15" baking pan at 350º for 20-25 minutes.
FROSTING: Add buttermilk to melted butter. Combine powdered sugar and cocoa. Pour hot liquid over and stir. Add vanilla and nuts (if desired). Frost cake while still hot.
