1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1 lb. pork sausage, ground
6 slices white bread, cubed
2 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried dill
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
6 eggs
2 cups whole milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the butter in small pan and pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Brown the sausage in a skillet and set aside. Layer half the cubed bread in the buttered baking pan and sprinkle with half the basil, dill and cheese. Then layer the remaining bread cubes, herbs and cheese. Sprinkle the browned sausage meat over all. Beat the eggs well and add the milk to the eggs. Pour over the contents of the baking pan. Set in refrigerator overnight. Bake in a 350º oven for 1/2 hour or until set. Cut into squares and serve.
