3 c. cream
1 c. Karo syrup
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Combine Karo syrup, salt and 1 cup of cream until it boils and becomes a little thick stirring constantly. Slowly simmer ( you want it to boil the entire time) 10-15 minutes. Test for soft ball stage in cold water. As it cooks, it becomes darker in color. Add another cup of cream. Cook down again, repeating directions above. Then add last cup of cream. Test for soft ball stage and cook an additional 5 minutes.
Serve (warm), or immediately after cooking put in pint jars with lids and rings and turn upside down to seal. Store in cupboard and use as needed.
