Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 c sugar
1/3 c cornstarch
1/3 t salt
4 c. milk
4 eggs
3 T butter
1 T vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt in bowl so cornstarch will not clump when you add the milk. Bring to a boil, take off heat, and add 4 egg yolks (to which you have already gradually whisked in hot milk mixture to bring temperature up so eggs won't cook hard in milk). Bring back to a boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Take off heat and add butter and vanilla. Pour into baked crust and cover with plastic wrap to avoid skin forming on top.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
You can pour this over bananas for banana cream pie, or mix in coconut for a coconut cream pie, or eat as is for vanilla cream pie.
