Whole chicken or chicken breast
1 egg
water
flour
2 pinches of salt
1/2 tsp shortening
Half and Half

Directions:
Directions:
Boil chicken until done. Remove chicken and shred meat into chunks. Save broth.

Break a hole in the end of the egg. pour egg into a bowl. Fill shell with water. Add water, shortening, and salt. Stir, adding flour until a stiff dough is formed. Roll out and cut with knife into strips.

Bring reserved broth to a boil. Drop strips of noodles into boiling broth. Cook for 15 minutes. Add half and half and pieced chicken to simmering pot.

Nanny made her mother's recipe all the time. This is the kind of recipe that you just learn by repetition and pass down by tradition. When I was around 12, I asked Nanny to help me write it down so I would not forget. This is what we wrote down that day!
