1c. oats
½ c. honey
½ c. butter
1 ½ tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. yeast
1/3 c. warm water
¼ c. flaxseed meal
3 c. whole wheat flour
1 ½ c. white flour
1 tsp. water
1 large egg
1 tbsp. oats
1 tbsp. poppy seeds
1 tbsp. sesame seeds

Directions:

Mix oats, honey, butter, salt and water together and let cool. Mix yeast and warm water and add to oat mixture when cooled sufficiently. Add to all flaxseed meal and flour. Knead dough and let rise in a greased bowl. When dough has risen sufficiently, form into knots (or any other roll shape of your preference) and brush tops of rolls with water and egg mixture. Sprinkle oats, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds over rolls and allow to rise. Bake at 400º until golden brown. Makes 24 rolls.
