2 c. white sugar
1 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cold water

2 eggs whites, beaten stiff
1/2 c. light corn syrup
Food colors may be added such as green for Christmas or red for Valentine's Day

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugars, cold water and vanilla together. Add in egg whites that are beaten stiff with electric mixer. Get out your candy making thermometer. When it is at soft ball stage, add 1/2 of the syrup. Then at hard ball stage, add the other 1/2 of the syrup. Beat until stiff. Place by spoonful on waxed paper. Cool. Place in air tight container.

We added the egg yolks not used in this recipe, for scrambled egg breakfast the next morning.
