2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tbsp. snipped fresh parsley
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried leaf sage, basil, or oregano, crushed
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1 and 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard

Combine eggs and milk in a small bowl; stir in bread crumbs, onions, parsley, salt, sage, and pepper. Add ground meat, mix well. Lightly pat mixture into a loaf pan.

Bake for 350º for 1 to 1 and 1/4 hours or until meat is 160º.

In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard; spread over meat. Bake for 10 minutes more. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into 8 slices (or 4 if you like thick slices).
