1 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
2/3 Cup Butter
2 Eggs
1 Cup Applesauce
1/2 cup Buttermilk
2 tsp Baking Powder (level)
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
Cloves
1/2 tsp Salt
2 1/4 cup Flour

Topping for cake

2 T Butter 2 Cups Powdered sugar
4 T Milk (enough to moisten the sugar to spread without running.
Directions:
Directions:
Blend the butter with sugar, add eggs. Beat eggs, butter and sugar till fluffy. Sift all
dry ingredients together except Soda. Mix applesauce and buttermilk together.
Dissolve soda in this, then alternately add flour and the applesauce mixture to the
sugar and egg mixture. When all is mixed, beat with electric mixer or by hand til well
mixed. Bake at 370 degree use two loaf pans or one 9 x 13. Fill pans about 1/2 full.

Topping - Add milk little at a time until desired consistency flavor with vanilla. Spread on cake when cool.
