4 lb. (10 or 12 med.) cooking apples
2 c. cider
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. ground allspice
3 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Stem, core and quarter apples. Do NOT peel. Cook apples and cider covered in pot on low 10 hours. Put through Foley food mill. Return to pot and add 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. cloves and 1/8 tsp. ground allspice and 3 cups of sugar. Continue cooking 1 hour or to desired thickness. Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal. It may also be frozen.

When I was a visiting nurse, one of my patients would have this on homemade bread. I was privileged to also sample and asked for the recipe. I received it and have been making it for years.
