2 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup Milk
1 cup shortening
5 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Extract (Vanilla, Lemon or Almond)
1/4 teaspoon Salt
5 cups Approximately Flour, to make a stiff dough

Directions:

Cream shortening, Add sugar and eggs. Beat well. Combine flour sifted with powder, soda, salt. Add flour mixture alternately with milk. Roll out and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375ºF.

My boys, Jacob and Luke, and I have had a great time making these cookies to take to their classmates for Valentines. Coloured icing and sprinkles make that great big heart look delicious indeed!
