1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. cream cheese
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. almond extract
4 c. powdered sugar
2 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, cream shortening, cream cheese, and butter with electric mixer. Add almond extract. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep bowl covered with a damp cloth until ready to use.
For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not in use. Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored 2 weeks. Rewhip before using.

I made this frosting for Andy and Amber's wedding cupcakes and for Celeste and Leland's wedding cake. It was a great consistency for using frosting bags and tips. And very yummy too! The original recipe was Wilton's Buttercream frosting and used vanilla extract and shortening instead of shortening and cream cheese. I used almond extract instead of the vanilla.
