1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
6 tsp corn syrup
2 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Add soda to syrup. Cream shortening, sugar and beaten eggs. Add syrup and soda and vanilla. Then add remaining dry ingredients and combine. Roll onto a floured board and cut with a round cookie cutter. Bake in 350º until lightly browned. When baked and cooled fill with jam or a date mixture; pressing 2 cookies together.
