2 C cake flour
2 C sugar
6 egg whites
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 C boiling water
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
FROSTING
3 squares chocolate
2 T butter
12 marshmallows cut in half
1/4 C water
dash of salt
2 C powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Sift together sugar and flour; add 1 C boiling water to mixture. Beat egg whites stiff, adding baking powder and cream of tartar. Add to flour mixture. Flour and boiling water mixture should be cool before adding egg whites. Add vanilla and salt.Bake 350º 20 - 25 minutes. For frosting, place chocolate, butter, marshmallows, water and salt in a sauce pan. Heat and stir over low heat until chocolate and marshmallows are melted and blended. Add remaining ingredients.
