1/4 c (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1/2 c finely chopped onion or 2 t instant minced onion
1 lb ground beef
2 T flour
1 (8 oz) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 t salt
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 c buttermilk
Chopped parsley for garnish

In a large skillet, melt butter. Add onion and cook until transparent. Add meat and heat until browned. Stir in flour, drained mushrooms, and salt. Cook 5 minutes. Add soup; simmer and additional 10 minutes. Stir in buttermilk and heat to desired serving temperature. Do not boil. Serve over noodles or rice. Garnish with parsley. Serves 6-8.

To freeze, remove from heat after adding buttermilk. Cool. Package and freeze. When ready to use, defrost in refrigerator for 5 hours or more. Heat only until bubbly.
