Although the older cousins have already passed away, I'm sure they would have shared this memory from their childhood...Grandma Moore (Myrtie Ellen Thomas Moore) passed away before many of her grandchildren were born. She died at home on January 14, 1936, at the age of 69 due to chronic heart disease. It was not an unusual custom at the time for the wake and the funeral service to be held at the home, and so Myrtie's was.
