One of my fondest memories of Granny's house is taking my three daughters up there at lunchtime during the week.My uncles-Jerry, Richard, and sometimes Irvin-would be eating lunch, and they would have out Granny's wonderful, incomparable pickles. My girls loved her pickles!During her lifetime, she worked hard. She was a cook in the canteen at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, which involved a long bus ride out there in the morning and another long ride back home in the evening. After she fixed dinner, she went out to work in the garden. She canned a lot of what she harvested from it.
