Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 ½ pounds green beans OR 28 oz frozen green beans
½ cup beer
½ cup butter
¼ cup white vinegar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 T minced onion
2 T cornstarch
½ pound crisp bacon, crumbled

Directions:
Directions:
Wash beans and slice on diagonal into 1 inch pieces. Place in a frying pan with beer and butter (may use less butter and more beer, if desired). Cook over low heat until crisp and tender, about 15 minutes. If using frozen green beans, put in microwave for ½ the cooking time. Remove beans with slotted spoon and set aside. Combine vinegar, brown sugar, onion and cornstarch; stir into liquid and cook until thickened. Thin with beer, if necessary. Gently fold beans back into mixture; sprinkle with bacon and salt and pepper, if desired. If using the frozen beans, after cooking them for ½ the cooking time, put beans in frying pan with beer and butter, cook for about 15 minutes. Combine the other ingredients and thicken the liquid. Fold in beans and bacon.
