3 c. self rising flour ( White Lilly)
1/3 c. Crisco ( Lard ) - May add more if needed
1 c.buttermilk -add more if needed to make dough wet enough.

Directions:
Sift flour into large bowl, with bare hands doodle out a hole in the middle of the bowl.
scoop out palm full of lard (crisco) and mix with hands until lard is broken up.
add buttermilk while mixing with hand until you make the desired amount of dough. Make sure not to get dough to dry.
pinch off palm size amount of dough then kneed into hands until smooth, then roll into ball place on biscuit pan then mash down with three fingers.
repeat until all dough is gone. Make sure that dough is barely touching when on baking pan. Preheat oven to 400º Bake on center rack until golden brown.

This was taught to Millie (Momma) , by Granny Hill, then perfected by Mamo Hosey- they both taught me how to make biscuits for your Daddy. They always made sure that he got the middle one.
