Cookies:
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting:
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons hot water
1 teaspoon almond extract
Food Coloring if desired.

Directions:

Mix dough and chill, if necessary, before rolling on floured cloth or surface. Cut into desired shapes. Cook on Pam sprayed cookie sheets at 375 degrees for 6 - 8 minutes. Cool completely and frost.

The almond extract is the key to the unusual taste of these cookies. It is also great in rice crispy treats!
