about 4-5 med. sized beets
water or chicken stock
salt to taste
1 T. white vinegar
a squirt of ketchup ("secret ingred" !)
dallop of sour cream
some chopped fresh dill

Directions:
Directions:
Scrub, trim, and boil beets with skin on in water or chicken broth.
Then peel and shred beets. Return beets to cooking liquid. Add salt, vinegar, ketchup and let it cool. Serve with fresh dill and dallop of sour cream. Good with rye bread.
